Host your website on a server outside of the United States
The location of your server matters! The closer the visitor is to the data center where your site is hosted, the faster your site will load for them. For more information regarding data center locations, refer to our official announcement. Choose from one of three data center locations at no additional cost. When you sign up for an account you can select from one of the following data center location:
- US: Midwest
- Europe: London
- Asia: Tokyo
Check which data center is going to work best for you
Before choosing a data center it would be a good idea to test out the various locations to determine general latency. You can ping the IP address that corresponds to the country you are trying to test. Each IP leads to a server in that country. Each of the servers are identical in terms of configuration and hardware:
- United States: 50.116.56.20
- London: 176.58.107.45
- Japan: 106.187.98.41
New Clients
When you choose a plan on the pricing page and proceed to the sign up page you will see an area at the bottom of step 2 that looks like this:

Just click on the radio button for the Data Center you wish for your site to be hosted on and we will put it there when we set your site up.
Current Clients
If you’ve already been provisioned in one geographic area and you want to move to another, just contact support and we can do that for you. When contacting support, please specify which data center you would like to be moved to, as well as when we should move the site. We are currently offering two windows to do the move, they are:
- Thursday 9am-11am CST
- Thursday 6pm-8pm CST
Additional Information
Any time we do a server change there is always a possibility of down time, it is just the nature of a server move. However, we will do our best to have either no downtime or as little downtime as possible.
Please also be aware that this type of move means that your site is getting a new IP address. You will need to update your DNS to reflect that new IP address. For information on finding your IP address, please refer to the following article: Find the IP address of your site
This will also impact your SFTP connection while the site is propagating to the new IP address. The best way to connect to the SFTP during propagation is to use the IP address for the host name, which can be found by following the instructions in the article provided above.
