Finding out where to point your CNAME (locating account name)

Instead of setting up an A record to the IP address of your wordpress install, some clients like to point a CNAME record. To do this, all you really need to know is your account name. Your account name can be found by navigating to /wp-admin/ then clicking on the WP Engine button at the top left corner. You will see a screen that looks like the following:
As you can see you would create a CNAME record that points to the following URL: account_name.wpengine.com
The account_name is the name that you entered when you signed up for the account. If you have additional WordPress installs (domains) then the account_name for the install would be the install name. Here is an image of a main account called “account_name” and 4 subsequent installs:
